LACROSSE: Northeast Boys to Host Long Reach in Playoffs

The Chesapeake boys will play on the road, while the girls will be at home on Wednesday.

 

The brackets for the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) state lacrosse tournaments are set and nearly every county school has one last shot at a title.

The boys lacrosse team is set to play Long Reach at home on Wednesday in the Class 2A/3A South Regional. The Eagles will be looking to bounce back from their .

After Friday night’s loss, Eagles coach Kevin Rutledge said the team will have to work on the "little things." He said the dropped passes the team committed on Friday need to be addressed moving forward.

The boys team will travel to Calvert County to face Huntingtown on Wednesday. After Friday’s victory over Northeast, senior Jason Crane said he thought the team was looking good moving forward.

“Obviously none of our recent games are going to show huge wins, but in practice we are a whole different team than we have been and I think we are going to end strong,” Crane said.

South River (1) earned a first-round bye. The Seahawks will play on Friday against the winner of the match between Great Mills and Northern.

Broadneck (2) earned a first round bye. The Bruins will play Friday against the winner of the match between Meade and Arundel.

Severna Park (4) vs. North Point (13) – Wednesday.
Winner plays either Annapolis or Leonardtown on Friday.

Glen Burnie  (5) vs. Parkville (12). (Class 3A/4A South Regional) – Wednesday.
Winner plays Howard or North County on Friday.
