Leaking Boat Fuel Sends Crews To Pasadena Marina

Fuel leaking from a boat at a Pasadena marina drew Anne Arundel County Fire crews.

PASADENA, MD — Fuel leaking from a boat at a Pasadena marina drew Anne Arundel County Fire crews, along with officials from state agencies to the site. The hazard was reported Sunday morning in Stoney Creek near the Dena Marina in the 700 block of East Shore Road.

Anne Arundel County fire officials say an abandoned 40-foot boat partially submerged in the water had containment booms placed around it several days earlier, but they were saturated, and fuel was starting to spread from the boat.

Members of the Special Operations Hazardous Materials Team, along with a fireboat from the Baltimore City Fire Department, placed new booms to surround the vessel again and contain the leak.
