Millersville Motorcyclist Dies After Crash On Veterans Highway

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — A 70-year-old Millersville man died after losing control of his motorcycle and being struck by a pickup truck, Anne Arundel County police said.

The crash occurred shortly after 3 p.m. on Wednesday on northbound Veterans Highway, just north of Brightview Road.

According to a preliminary investigation, Charles D. Braun was riding a 1982 Yamaha XJ650 northbound when he attempted to change lanes across uneven pavement. Police said Braun lost control of the motorcycle, was thrown from it and fell into the path of a northbound Chevrolet Colorado.

Braun was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, where he later died.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 29-year-old Columbia man, was not identified by police.

The Anne Arundel County Police Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the collision.
