Orchard Beach Truck Driver Hauls Away $10K Lottery Fortune
A truck driver from Orchard Beach will use his $10,000 Maryland Lottery prize on a trip to visit family in Florida.
ORCHARD BEACH, MD — An Orchard Beach truck driver who found his first big Maryland Lottery payday close to home at a 7-Eleven hit the road to claim his prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. After playing scratch-offs two to three times a week in hopes of finding his fortune, the happy man bought a Your Fortune scratch-off that did the trick.
There was no particular reason for the lucky winner’s choice of games. The 72-year-old simply saw a $10 ticket that he liked and grabbed it. “It was a lot of numbers to comprehend at first,” the Anne Arundel County resident told Maryland Lottery officials.
He eventually confirmed his $10,000 win and made his way downtown to claim his prize.

A truck driver for the entertainment industry for 27 years, the winner currently makes deliveries for an online video-streaming service. Although he has no major plans for his winnings, the lucky player plans to visit his sister in Florida later this year.
