More Than 500 Attend Bodkin Elementary Annual Fair

The event raises funds for environmental and charitable causes.

The fifth annual Environmental and Cultural Fair at on Saturday was a great success, according to a Bodkin PTA member.

The fair attracted well over 500 people, according to Jennifer O'Sullivan, a member of the PTA. The and gives the school a chance to reach out to the community.

A portion of the fair’s proceeds go to Kindness in Action, which is a way students at Bodkin connect with impoverished areas of the world. Funds from the school go directly to projects promoting health and education in other areas, according to O’Sullivan.

The theme for the fair was “Educate, Create, and Shop,” and Bodkin, a Maryland Green School, shared with fair-goers different ways to help the environment. They had bicycles that powered different things and auctioned off rain barrels.
