Pasadena Driver Critically Hurt In Truck Crash

A Pasadena driver was critically injured early Thursday when his pickup hit a guardrail and slammed into trees, police said.

PASADENA, MD —A Pasadena driver was critically injured early Thursday morning when his pickup hit a guardrail and slammed into trees, police said. Andrew J. Niles, 22, of the 200 block of Golden Crown Way was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore in critical condition.

Anne Arundel County Police say the one-vehicle accident happened just before 2 a.m. on Paul T. Pitcher Memorial Hwy (MD-100) near MD-10 in Pasadena. The pickup Niles drove westbound on M-100 drifted left off the road, jumped a guardrail and struck numerous trees.

Investigators say Niles was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The preliminary cause of the crash is failure to remain in a single lane. Any charges will be determined after a review by the state's attorney.
