VIDEO: Pasadena Elementary Sings National Anthem at Baysox Game
The fourth- and fifth-grade chorus performed "The Star-Spangled Banner" Thursday night.
Pasadena Elementary School’s fourth- and fifth-grade chorus sang the national anthem at Thursday night’s Bowie Baysox game at Prince George's Stadium.
Led by choral director Jo Enke, the students sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" in front of an announced attendance of 2,575 people. This is the second year in a row the school has performed at a Baysox game.
“It is something we like to do and it serves as a fundraiser for our music department,” Enke said. “It is a nice thing for the kids to do and it promotes our national anthem. You’d be surprised how many kids don’t know the words. So it is a fun event and a good learning experience.”
