Pasadena Scratch-Off Player Fills Tank, Wins Big
A Pasadena grandmother who won $50,000 on a lottery scratch-off ticket says she'll save the windfall for a rainy day.

PASADENA, MD — A 76-year-old Anne Arundel County resident stopped for gas at a Royal Farms in Pasadena and left unknowingly with a $50,000 winning 20X The Cash scratch-off, according to a Maryland Lottery news release.
The woman, who plays instant tickets occasionally, gave into the urge to try her luck on a recent Sunday. She purchased two $5 scratch-off games, one for herself and one for her son, and headed home. Once there, the Pasadena woman gave her son one instant ticket and she scratched the other, which happened to be the 20X The Cash game. Her son didn’t have much luck with his game, but the retired caretaker enjoyed a big surprise. One of her numbers matched one of the winning numbers and the prize was a whopping $50,000.
“I just couldn’t believe it,” the grandmother said in a news release. When asked what she might do with her good fortune, she simply said she’ll “save for a rainy day.”
