Police Arrest, Charge Baltimore Man With Shooting Outside Mall
After a shooting outside Arundel Mills Mall, police arrested a Baltimore man and charged him with attempted murder.

HANOVER, MD — Police arrested a man in connection with a shooting outside Arundel Mills Mall in July. Officers charged the accused Baltimore man, Alonta Borrell Johnson, on July 22, two days after law enforcement obtained an arrest warrant.
Johnson, 27, faces 12 charges, four of which are felonies. The most serious charges against him are attempted first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault and possession of a gun with a felony conviction.
Johnson is being held without bail. He has a preliminary hearing on Aug. 19. Johnson's case does not yet have a trial date.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department announced the arrest on Friday, noting that a different jurisdiction served the warrant. Patch asked county police which department made the arrest but has not yet received a response.
Police say the shooting happened around 5:15 a.m. on July 19 when the victim and the shooter got into an argument in the mall parking lot. After shooting the man from a car, the suspect drove away. One witness reported hearing a gunshot.
