POLL: Do You Support a Vehicle Smoking Ban?
The ban could make smoking in the car with a child under the age of 8 a primary offense.

In an effort to protect children from second-hand smoke, the Maryland Senate has given an initial OK to a bill that would make smoking in a vehicle with a passenger under the age of 8 a primary offense, according to an article in The Baltimore Sun.
If the bill becomes a primary offense, a police officer would be able to pull drivers over for the violation.
According to The Sun Sen. Edward Reilly (R-Crofton) tried to alter the bill so the violation would be a secondary offense, rather than a primary, but it was shot down.

The bill is something state lawmakers have been trying to put into action for quite some time. Back in May, Maryland lawmakers tried to for smoking in a vehicle with a child under the age of 8, the same age at which children are required to be in safety seats.
Do you think the bill should pass?
