Q&A: Eagle Cove School Student Maya Manssuri

Patch caught up with first-grader Maya Manssuri, 7, to ask her a few questions about the end of the school year, and her summer plans.

Pasadena Patch: What is something you learned this year?
Maya Manssuri: I learned how different rocks were formed in science. I also learned how we get fossils. The bones fall on the ground and then years and years passed, and the dirt piles up, but the bones are still there.

Pasadena Patch: What was your favorite part of this school year?
Maya: We raised baby terrapins. When we first got them they were the size of a quarter. We’re going to release them on Friday. We got them in September.

Pasadena Patch: What are you most looking forward to next year?
Maya: We are getting a new teacher. I am excited for that.

Pasadena Patch: What are you going to do over your summer vacation?
Maya: I am going to walk to the pool and go swimming. I plan on going golfing with my father and playing with my dog Roxy.

Pasadena Patch: What are you going to miss most about school during the summer?
Maya: Having the baby terrapins.
