Q&A: High Point Camper Sophia Gonzalez

Sophia Gonzalez, 8, is a rising third-grader at Solley Elementary School

Patch stopped by to talk to a few Pasadena students participating in the Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks Summer Fun Center at the school.

Sophia Gonzalez, 8, will be a third-grader at in the fall. Patch talked to Sophia, from Riviera Beach, about how her summer is going and how she feels about the start of school.

Pasadena Patch: What has been your favorite part of your summer vacation so far?
Sophia Gonzalez:
I like the games we play in camp especially capture the flag. I also like "What Time is it, Mr. Fox?" and bowling for kids.

Pasadena Patch: What is one book that you have read this summer?
Sophia:
I read Dr. Seuss' Hop on Pop. I like the part when they jump on him and he keeps saying “Don’t jump on Pop!”  

Pasadena Patch: What was something you learned in school last year?
Sophia:
In social studies I learned that Washington, DC, is the capital. I actually already knew that was the capital but they told us again.

Pasadena Patch: What are you most looking forward to when school starts back up?
Sophia:
I want to meet new friends.

Pasadena Patch: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Sophia:
I want to work at the aquarium. My favorite part about the aquarium is the three-legged turtle. And I like the sharks; I don’t get how the sharks don’t eat the big school of fish.
