Riva Man Found Stealing Brass From Buildings: Police

The man was charged with theft for reportedly taking brass sprinkler caps from the exterior of two Annapolis buildings.

A Riva man was charged with theft for reportedly stealing brass sprinkler caps from the outside of two buildings in Annapolis, police say.

A bystander called police Friday morning to report seeing the suspect remove brass sprinkler system caps from a building’s exterior in the 300 block of Fourth Street.

Officers reportedly found David Wilkinson, 43, of Riva at the scene carrying 12 brass caps in a bag. Wilkinson admitted to taking the caps from the building on Fourth Street and another building in the 400 block of Fifth Street.

Wilkinson was charged with two counts of theft and released on his own recognizance by the District Court Commissioner.
