SOFTBALL: Cougars Continue Playoff Surge
The Chesapeake High softball team will play in the state semifinals on Tuesday night.

The softball team will continue its playoff run on Tuesday night at the Bachman Softball Complex in Glen Burnie when it plays in the Maryland 4A State Semifinals.
The Cougars (19-5) will take on Prince George’s County foe C.H. Flowers High School (17-2) Tuesday night at 7 p.m. If they win, Chesapeake will play in the state finals at the University of Maryland, College Park on Friday or Saturday.
Chesapeake enters the state semifinals on a 16-game winning streak. They defeated Glenelg High School in the District V Championship game on May 9. After earning a first-round bye in the state playoffs, they defeated North County on May 14, 12-6.

In the region semifinals, the Cougars defeated fellow Anne Arundel County team Glen Burnie 4-3 in . The Cougars then beat Broadneck last Friday 4-2, which puts them in the state semifinals.
Flowers comes in off a surprising upset. The team beat an undefeated Bowie High School 5-2 in the regional finals last week. Flowers will be looking to end the Cougars run on Tuesday night.
