There will be a sobriety checkpoint in Anne Arundel County the weekend of July 20 as part of a "checkpoint strikeforce" initiative.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD —Maryland State Police have announced that they will be enforcing a sobriety checkpoint in Anne Arundel County the weekend of July 20 as part of the "checkpoint strikeforce" initiative.
Law enforcement from the Maryland Transportation Authority and the Maryland Natural Resources Police will assist state police officers in the initiative, which is designed to reduce the number of alcohol-related crashes in the county.
The sobriety check will start on Saturday, Maryland Police stated, and will continue throughout the weekend, officials said. A “Mobile Breath Alcohol Testing” truck, funded by the Maryland Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Office, will be on the scene to process impaired drivers, reported the Capital Gazette.
