Strange Substance At BWI Arrives By Plane: Officials

BWI fire and rescue officials were called Monday night to investigate what was described by authorities as an 'unknown substance.'

A questionable substance aboard a plane arriving at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport launched an investigation on Monday, Oct. 29, according to BWI officials.

After testing the substance, BWI Fire Department and other authorities reported there was no hazard.

The scene was declared secured as of 9:40 p.m., according to BWI officials.

The substance was determined to be tissue box fibers, according to The Capital, which reported they were found in the lavatory of the Southwest aircraft arriving from San Antonio at 8:30 p.m.
