Teen Disappears From Anne Arundel, Found Dead In Baltimore City

A Calvert County teen may have disappeared from Anne Arundel County and was later found dead in the city of Baltimore, authorities say.

BALTIMORE, MD — A Calvert County teen reported missing on Sept. 27 may have been in Anne Arundel County when she disappeared. Authorities said Sunday that Danielle Valerie Gunson, 18, from Owings, was found dead in the city of Baltimore.

Shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday, Anne Arundel County Police along with the Baltimore City Police responded to a report of a dead female near the 100 block of Riverside Road in the city of Baltimore, near Brooklyn Park. The unidentified woman suffered trauma to her torso and was the apparent victim of a homicide. Authorities have not said

At 8:39 p.m. Thursday, Anne Arundel County Police took a missing persons report for Gunson, who may have been in Anne Arundel County at the time of her disappearance. On Friday, Sept. 28, the Baltimore City Homicide Unit identified the victim from Riverside Road as Gunson.

The Anne Arundel County and Baltimore City Homicide Units are jointly investigating Gunson's disappearance and murder. Investigators believe she was targeted and not a random act of violence.
