UM BWMC Announces DAISY Award Winner

UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center's Jenna Cary, RN, a nurse in the Emergency Department, was recently awarded the medical center’s DAISY Award for outstanding patient care. The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary, compassionate and skillful care given by nurses every day. DAISY Award honorees exemplify and demonstrate the UM BWMC nursing commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate care. They are recognized as outstanding role models in the profession of nursing. UM BWMC implemented the DAISY Award in 2017.

In part Jenna’s nomination said, “Jenna has a beautiful personality – very warm and friendly. We are fairly new to Maryland and she made both of us feel very welcomed. She took care of us so professionally and tended to him (patient) when he needed help. When her shift was over, she explained to the next nurse in charge exactly what was needed for his continuing care. I will never forget her act of kindness; she went above and beyond!”
