UM BWMC's Welling Recognized with Sunshine Award

Patient Care Associate Was Nominated by His Co-Workers

Congratulations to UM BWMC's Patient Care Assistant Josh Welling for being named the Sunshine Award winner for August 2019. Josh is new to the unit but has made an immediate impact. His co-workers nominated him for this award because “he is a rock star and we are thrilled to have him as part of the family!” He makes every patient laugh and even volunteers to help with patients who are not assigned to him. He handles every day with grace and patience. Congratulations!

The Sunshine Award was created by UM BWMC to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of patient care technicians (PCT) and patient care assistant (PCA). It is the PCA/PCT that spends the most time with patients and is key in meeting and communicating their needs. PCAs/PCTs are an essential part of the health care team, and the Sunshine Award allows the medical center to recognize their extraordinary contributions.
