The four fifth-graders from Eagle Cove participated in the school's commencement ceremony on Wednesday morning.
Fifth-grade students at celebrated the completion of elementary school at their commencement ceremony held outside on the school’s lawn Wednesday morning.
The four fifth-graders sat on stage and received their diplomas, marking the end of their years at Eagle Cove.
As is customary at the school’s graduation, the fifth-grade class comes over to the school grounds via boat. However, this year there were some problems with the high tide that kept the graduates from being able to dock and get off the boat.

“We can control a lot of things, but we can’t control the tide,” said Laura Kang, head of school.
A parent picked up the kids and brought them over in her car so they could walk into the outdoor ceremony—just a few minutes behind schedule.

Each of the graduates gave a speech, thanking their parents and teachers and talking about their favorite Eagle Cove memories. The students mentioned the school's field trips, nature trails and Spanish lessons among their favorite experiences.
The Class of 2012 also presented the school with their class gift—a cover for the school’s recycling bins.
The members of the Eagle Cove School Class of 2012 are:
