Alleged Car Burglar Dies In Baltimore Highlands Parking Lot: Police

Baltimore County police said a man trying to break into a vehicle was pronounced deceased after struggling with a bystander.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A man is deceased after police said he was trying to break into a vehicle Sunday morning in the Baltimore Highlands area.

Before 8:30 a.m., authorities said a man saw the individual breaking into a car in the 4300 block of Annapolis Road, and he attempted to hold the suspect — who was resisting — as he called police.

The incident occurred in the parking lot of a business, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

When officers arrived, the alleged car burglar was unconscious and not breathing, police said.

Medical personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene, and his death is being investigated as suspicious. Neither individual is being identified pending notification of next of kin.

The medical examiner is conducting an autopsy, and detectives will share the results of their investigation for review with the Baltimore County State's Attorney's Office.
