"A Date Which Will Live In Infamy"
70 years later we reflect on the events that forced the United States into WWII.

Today marks the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, "a date
which will live in infamy".
The base was attacked by 353 Japanese fighters, bombers and torpedo planes
launched from six aircraft carriers. In only 2 hours 2,400 servicemen were
killed, 1,282 were wounded and hundreds of pieces of equipment were destroyed or
seriously damaged.
Despite the strong support for isolationism, which vanished quickly, the
United States declared war on Japan the following day. Germany and Italy
responded by declaring war on the U.S. on December 11th.
A 17 year old sailor who survived that day, would be 87 years old now. Our
veterans may age, but their sacrifices will never fade over time.
