I'm Fed Up with Government Freebies
Third-world-countries may have to run pathetic ads to get a bowl of rice per day, but here in America all you have to do is literally nothing to get a box of Twinkies and a free cell phone!

Food stamps. I have been in line behind people who were far from “in need” of food. I watched a heavy-set woman dig through her designer handbag with four-inch, jewel encrusted acrylic nails for her EBT food stamp card. In her search for the card, she dislodged a pack of Salem Light cigarettes. On the check-out conveyor belt, her order included chocolate pudding cups, Marshmallow Fruity Pebbles, soda, Easymac and meats that I only dream about eating. Not one item was store brand or an “essential staple.”
Food stamps are just one of many free government assistance programs. Citizens may also qualify for free medical assistance, free dental benefits and my personal new favorite – free federally funded cell phones (say that three times fast.) What's really wrong with this is that the people who are paying the premiums, footing the cell phone bill and dishing out for the grocery tab are not entitled to receive any benefits whatsoever. In order to get the freebies, you must be virtually unemployed.
I do believe there are people who are truly in need, but I have seen more abuse of state benefits than good being done. I would love to hear how people in my area feel about this!
