To Be, Not To Be or Do We Just Let It Pass?

Believe me, I tried my best to keep this brief, but concise…sorry, did not work.  The last thing I want to do is make everyone’s eyes blur over.  However, being a woman working on mellowing in my retirement years, more human’s lib than women’s lib and trying to avoid the political schmarney garbaage that takes place on both sides of the aisle, I am hell bent for Lexington to understand how our leadership (White House and lets include the media, just for kicks) find it so disconcerting that a law student's reputation should be besmirched so harshly by one Rush Limbaugh, and yet sees absolutely nothing wrong with more garbaaage against women being consistently spewed forth by Bill Maher,  a comedian of obvious character flaws. 

And so I ask my gender group why are they not, for some reason (OMG..I hope it is not political), up in arms over both?  Where the heck is NOW....now????  The White House is very, very concerned with Limbaugh,  ladies.  But, not so much  with Maher.. they are use to him perhaps and even find his potty mouth something they can live with..after all he is just a  comedian..right?  And he did reach in his deep pockets with a pay-up, and smirkey little smile on his face…right? Ahh, it is the silent message for which us dear ladies may not be in tuned….perhaps  the real message.  I think it might aptly be referred to as  …”hallelujah….lets jump on this one and maybe the women folk will be unenlightened enough as to NOT see the forest for the trees.  Who knows, we just might get lucky, eh  team?”……….or maybe not ladies!!”

If one has no problem with discriminating in this particular game,  regarding acceptance or non-acceptance, depending upon who the trash mouth is or on what side of the aisle from whence the trash mouth comes, doesn't that send a little ole message regarding the motives of those who would have us women believe they give a good hot damn in the first place.  But rather see a huge opportunity to play politics and use women for their end game.  Please, not in the White House ladies and gentlemen!!  Good grief, why the heck does that concern me so?  And better yet, why doesn't it concern more women?  

Do these “team” darlings really give a rat's fuzzy butt about the vulgar characterizations being spewed forth by either of these guys? Questionable!!   Screaming in disgust about one and accepting $1million from the other sends a definite message to me.  The fact they might think by acting post haste to cut Limbaugh off at the knees and a good dose of keeping it high on the front line of media attention will get them more women votes amazes me.  So...for this political smooth “end run”...vulgar gender-focused snipits from the left =  OK,  however, vulgar gender-focused snipits from the Right = Not So Much!!!

In the constant political game of one-up-manship, perhaps their research has shown a large percentage of women in various age groups are ripe for low life political shenanigans....OMG, I certainly hope not.  We women folks have made too many strides to be newly abused by any political system...left or right...or any pseudo-women's rights groups either, for that matter.

From my perception,  if  true interest lies within the White House team regarding such vulgar verbal attacks against women,  why then a huge moment of silence….clearly a slap in the faces of all women…when it comes to William Maher?   Oh come on ladies and gentlemen…surely if the leadership folks insist on getting involved (certainly not for political purposes, of course) their ever ready concerns should be duly focused on both the right and left potty mouth mongers.  Not happening…..Ahhh, the wonder of it all!

And there lies the rub…if ya’ll are gonna get involved at least give it a quasi-honest face.  Refuse to discriminate, my darlings…especially for political reasons…However, should you pretend it ain’t so,  perhaps knowledgeable women everywhere should begin to make sure that your side of the fence is suddenly barren of feminine support now and in the future..  That will be the kick in the hind parts well deserved for ever thinking that women just might be insidious lamebrains.

Whew!!  I don’t know why, but I do feel so much better now.
