1 Firefighter Injured In Ridge Avenue Blaze: Officials
Firefighters put out a fire near Lansdowne on Tuesday afternoon that led to temporary evacuation orders.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Officials said one firefighter was injured battling a house fire on Ridge Avenue Tuesday afternoon near Lansdowne. The fire was declared under control at 7:20 p.m., according to Baltimore County public safety officials.
At 3:26 p.m., authorities said they were dispatched to the 100 block of Ridge Avenue for a residential blaze.
There was heavy fire in the basement, officials reported.

By 3:50 p.m., crews had moved out of the residence and were battling the fire from outside the home, officials said.
The house was vacant and a stairway had collapsed, according to WJZ, which said that residents in neighboring homes were told to evacuate during the firefighting operation.

By 5:15 p.m., authorities said the blaze was under control, meaning it had been contained.
In addition, public safety personnel said that one firefighter was treated and released on-site for minor injuries.
