Four Children Rescued from Pond in Lansdowne
Rescuers were called to frigid waters in Baltimore County Sunday afternoon.
First responders turned out in droves to assist with a water rescue involving multiple children near Lansdowne High School on Sunday afternoon, according to reports.
Four children had fallen into the lake behind Lansdowne High School, according to Fox 45.
Rescue crews were dispatched to the scene at 1:30 p.m. Sunday and brought one child to safety after a short search, while bystanders pulled three children from the water before rescue crews arrived, The Baltimore Sun reported.

The last child to be rescued was submerged under the icy water in Hillcrest Park, according to WJZ.
A boat, helicopter and approximately 60 emergency workers assisted at the scene, The Baltimore Sun reported.

The victims were taken to local hospitals, where CBS DC reported two children were in critical condition and two were listed as serious.
Temperatures were above freezing—nearing 50 degrees—Sunday afternoon in Lansdowne, according to the National Weather Service. Even so, icy patches remained at the pond.
