Halethorpe Woman Involved in Fatal Motorcycle Crash: Police

The crash occurred Saturday on Washington Boulevard, police report.

A motorcyclist died Saturday from a collision with a vehicle driven by a Halethorpe woman, according to the Howard County Police Department.

Gregory Trout, 64, of Jessup, was turning his motorcycle right onto the 5800 block of Washington Boulevard in Elkridge when he was hit by an SUV, police reported.

The driver of the SUV—a 44-year-old Halethorpe woman—was not injured in the crash, according to police.

The collision occurred at approximately 4:49 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, when Trout was turning his 2001 Harley Davidson right onto southbound Washington Boulevard/US 1, according to the report.

The Halethorpe woman driving the 2014 GMC Arcadia was also headed south on Route 1 when her vehicle hit the motorcycle, the report said.

According to the preliminary investigation, police said Trout failed to yield to the SUV, which had the right of way.

Trout was taken to St. Agnes Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased, police reported.
