High Water Closes Roads In Arbutus: Officials

BREAKING: Multiple vehicles have gotten stuck in flood waters Friday night in Arbutus and Lansdowne, officials say.

ARBUTUS, MD — Several roads in Arbutus were closed due to high water Friday night, according to officials in Baltimore County. Water rescues were required.

Due to high water, fire crews closed Arbutus and Benson avenues around 9 p.m.

As of 9:15 p.m., the Baltimore County Fire Department reported multiple roads were closed due to flooding in the Arbutus-Lansdowne area.

While several vehicles had gotten stuck in the water, authorities said nobody had been injured.

Some locations where cars were disabled in the floodwaters were Haverhill Road at Coolidge Avenue, as well as Patapsco Avenue.

Arbutus is under a flood warning until 1:45 a.m. Saturday.

During a flood warning, flooding is imminent or occurring. Drivers should turn around if they come across flooded roads, and pedestrians should not attempt to walk through flood waters.
