UPDATE: Surveyors Find Human Remains Near Catonsville Community College

The remains were found near an entrance to the college. Police say it is not the body of Timothy Getka, reported missing on Monday.

Baltimore County authorities are investigating human remains found Thursday near the grounds of Catonsville Community College, but police say they are not those of a man reported missing earlier this week.

The remains were found in a wooded area by the Rolling Road entrance to the college, according to Baltimore County Public Safety officials on Twitter.

Baltimore County Police were called at 12:38 p.m. to the Rolling Road entrance to the college after surveyors working in a wooded area nearby found human remains.

Detectives are uncertain exactly how long the remains have been at the location. The remains will be taken to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

The remains found are not of Timothy Getka, 56, who remains missing from the Catonsville area.

Getka, of the 5500 block of Ashbourne Road, has been missing since June 8, when he was last seen on surveillance video at the Catonsville Library.
