Lansdowne Explosion, House Fire Injures One: Officials

BREAKING: One person has been injured in a working house fire in Lansdowne, Baltimore County officials say.

HALETHORPE, MD — One person has been injured in a house fire/explosion in Lansdowne Monday afternoon, officials say. Firefighters were working to contain the blaze in the 2800 block of Virginia Avenue, according to authorities.

The victim was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment, Baltimore County public safety officials said.

At 2:32 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 2800 block of Virginia Avenue, where an explosion was reported and fire had engulfed a home, according to officials.

WBAL's chopper was over the scene with flames showing from the roof, and firefighters appeared to be battling the blaze from the exterior after 2:45 p.m.
