Man Died In Arbutus House Fire: Officials
A fatal fire in Arbutus Sunday night started in the back of the house, officials reported.
ARBUTUS, MD — One person died Sunday in a house fire in Arbutus, officials said. The identity of the man who perished has not been released.
Crews were dispatched to 5500 block of Ashbourne Road at 6:01 p.m., officials reported.
Within four minutes, the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department was at the scene, where crews reported there was heavy smoke and fire coming from the back of the residence.

About 50 firefighters responded to the one-alarm blaze, which is believed to have started in the back of the house near a computer room, fire authorities said.
There were no working smoke detectors in the single-family home, which was in a quiet neighborhood across Sulphur Spring Road from Arbutus Elementary School.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the deadly fire.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy and will identify the victim.
