UPDATE: Pedestrian Killed on Washington Boulevard

There was a fatal crash on Route 1 in Arbutus Monday morning, police report.

ARBUTUS, MD – A pedestrian died Monday morning following a crash on Washington Boulevard/US 1, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

Officials said they were dispatched at 5:50 a.m. on Monday to US 1 at Clarke Boulevard, where a vehicle had hit a person walking. According to police, the vehicle remained at the scene.

The woman had been walking south on northbound US 1 when she was hit by a Honda Pilot headed north, police reported. She was declared deceased at the scene, according to police.

Authorities said that Washington Boulevard was closed between I-195 and Clarke Boulevard until 8:40 a.m.

The pedestrian has not yet been identified, pending next-of-kin notification.
