Yoga Studio Opening In Arbutus

Keep It Simple Yoga will bring yoga, bellydancing and more to East Drive.

From Keep It Simple Yoga: Keep It Simple Yoga is excited to join the Arbutus community at the end of August. Keep It Simple yoga aims to create an all-inclusive environment where every woman, man and child, young or old, feels free and comfortable to practice yoga.

The studio will offer classes seven days a week starting at 8:30 am. Some of the classes offered are gentle yoga, prenatal yoga, yin yoga, tween yoga and more! There will also be belly dancing and workshops.

Kathleen Wright, Founder of Keep It Simple commented that “Yoga created a space for me to slow down and really focus on where my life was heading. I found yoga to begin to heal myself physically, mentally and spiritually. I started a weekly yoga practice and found it had a profound impact on my life. I began to find healing, happiness, joy, and purpose. This began my journey towards Keep It Simple Yoga.”

Being a resident of Arbutus, Kathleen began to teach locally in Arbutus and the Catonsville area. Kathleen first taught yoga in Lansdowne at a local gym and yoga studios in the surrounding areas. She later taught for students and faculty at UMBC and her local church in Arbutus.

Kathleen loves teaching beginner to advanced yoga students. She wants everyone to be able to experience the joy of yoga, whether it is sitting in a chair or standing on your head. Kathleen wants Keep It Simple Yoga to be a community, a safe space for students to find themselves through body awareness, without judgment, finding peace within stillness and loving kindness towards each other.

This is big news for the Arbutus community which has been struggling to attract new business. Recently, however, there has been a revolution of residents stepping up, calling on their local leaders and community groups to do more to bring the community back to its glory days, which has been happening. Baltimore county police and leaders have been putting time and money into the area in the last couple months.

The new studio will be at 5407 East Drive and is having its grand opening celebration on August 25th from 10am-2pm. The celebration will include live demonstrations, give-a-ways, special promotions, and more.
