For months local folks in Pittsburgh and Western Pa, anticipated the April 24, 2026 NFL Draft landing of the lauded NFL event to downtown Pittsburgh.
As of midnight, April 25, it appears the first day of the draft was immensely successful, as thousands of spectators and pro football fans tookover the North Shore and Point State Park in downtown Pittsburgh.
For the Steelers the draft was extra special, considering that team had the 21st overall pick in the first round. With that pick, they selected lineman Max Iheanachor from the Arizona State Sun Devils. At the NFL Combine, Iheanachor reportedly ran a 4.91 and a 4.95 at the 40-yard dash and his 10-yard split was set at 1.73 seconds.
Thankfully, the sports gods shined brightly on the first draft day events in Pittsburgh with sushine, blue skies and temps in the high 70s. With two more rounds scheduled for this weekend, Friday and Saturday, let's hope the good weather stays in tune for a couple more days.
For the uninformed Crawford's Gift Shop is a very special go-to museum and gift shop that caters to all NFL enthusiasts.
Crawford’s Gift Shop is located near the famous Breezewood Travel Interchange (where the PA Turnpike, I-70/I-76, and Lincoln Highway/Route 30 converge), a favorite rest stop and traveler’s oasis for hundreds of years, when it served as an important ancient trading trail. Aside from Manhattan’s Holland Tunnel, the Breezewood Interchange is the only primary interstate highway in the country that includes stoplights and an entire service industry to help you refresh. There are plenty of activities, shopping destinations, and great places to eat in the local area, as well as an abundance of hotels, motels, and inns. Make a day of it (or more) and explore a few of the many unique and fascinating attractions in and around one of America’s most iconic landmarks! Breezewood is the perfect day trip travel destination for sports fans. For more information about Crawford's Gift Shop, access crawfordsgiftshop.com).
