BALTIMORE, MD — At least three people were injured Tuesday after an explosion broke out at the Patapsco Wastewater Treatment Plant in Baltimore, according to reports.

The explosion is said to have happened around 1 p.m., with on-scene crews encountering three employees at the plant who suffered injuries. Two were hospitalized in critical condition, as a third was listed with serious injuries, CBS Baltimore reported.

The cause of the explosion at the plant, located on the 3500 block of Asiatic Avenue, remains under investigation.
