BALTIMORE, MD — A North Carolina man accused of urinating on concertgoers during a Morgan Wallen show has been arrested, Maryland Transportation Authority Police said.
Jayson Reed, 33, was arrested by the Wilson County Sheriff's Office following an investigation into the July 18 incident at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. He is being held in North Carolina pending extradition to Maryland, authorities said.
MDTA police officers assisted Baltimore police at the concert and responded to a fight at the stadium. Security personnel identified people involved in the altercation, and officers separated them before identifying Reed as a suspect and escorting him from the stadium.
Police later learned Reed had allegedly urinated on concertgoers, according to authorities.
In an interview with The Baltimore Sun, concertgoer Troy Grevelding felt a "wetness" on his leg during the show, prompting him to turn around and see what he described as an intoxicated man hunched over with his pants down. The man was urinating on his family, including his 8-year-old niece.
"Everything kind of froze," Grevelding said in a phone call with the Sun. "It took me a second to register it … and then I had a million thoughts going through my head, wanting to rip this dude's head off. It was the fastest slow-motion thing that could have happened."
Following the investigation and consultation with the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office, detectives obtained a warrant charging Reed with four counts of second-degree assault, public urination and other related offenses.
Reed is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
