2. 22-Year-Old Dies In Baltimore County Crash: Police (patch.com) — Baltimore County police are investigating a Friday night crash in Owings Mills that left 22-year-old Cameron Crosell dead after a collision between a Honda Accord and a GMC Yukon on Red Run Boulevard near Meadows Road. The Yukon's driver and a Honda passenger were also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries as the crash team works to determine what led to the wreck.
3. Susquehanna River water to supplement water supply in parts of Baltimore City, County (foxbaltimore.com) — Starting Monday, October 5, Baltimore's drinking water system will begin blending Susquehanna River water with existing supplies to help counter prolonged drought and low reservoir levels, mainly affecting areas served by the Montebello plants. Officials stress the water will remain safe to drink, cook with, and bathe in, though some residents may notice minor taste or color changes. City and county leaders are also urging households and businesses to conserve water through simple daily steps.
4. City Council President Cohen addresses BGE's $156 million rate hike request (foxbaltimore.com) — Baltimore residents could see their BGE electric bills rise by about $100 a year under a proposed $156 million rate increase that city leaders and advocates are pushing back against. Council President Zeke Cohen joined canvassers in West Baltimore's Allendale neighborhood to gather petition signatures and share assistance resources ahead of upcoming Public Service Commission hearings.
5. Multiple people hurt after shooting at Leon Day Park in Baltimore (thebaltimorebanner.com) — Multiple people were reportedly hurt Saturday evening in a shooting at Leon Day Park in Southwest Baltimore, prompting a large police response and closing North Franklintown Road at North Ellamont Street. Families and children were still in the park as Mayor Brandon Scott and Police Commissioner Richard Worley arrived on scene, while officials worked to secure the area and gather details.
