Authorities identified the husband and wife as Brian Walter Miller, 61, and Kimberly Anne Miller, 56. The Millers were both Fallston residents.

The Port of Baltimore confirmed Monday that Brian served as the deputy executive director of the port authority.

"Our hearts are heavy with the tragic passing of our Deputy Exec Dir Brian Miller & his wife Kim following a car crash this past weekend," reads a social media post.

"Brian dedicated 26 years to Md Port Admin & PoB & will be deeply missed. Our thoughts are with the Miller family during this difficult time."

A release issued by State Police states the Millers were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

What Happened?

Early findings from the crash site indicate the Volvo XC60 driven by Kimberly was traveling eastbound on Hess Road when it collided with a Volkswagen Passat in a southbound Jarrettsville Pike lane.

Brian was a passenger in the Volvo.

The Volkswagen was driven by 19-year-old Matthew Thomson Howard Waylett, of Monkton. The teenager was taken to a local trauma center by the Maryland State Police Aviation Command.

Officials have not offered details on the extent of the teen's injuries.

Investigators believe speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash.

The fatal collision, which prompted road closures for more than three hours, remains under investigation.

Anyone with information related to the crash is urged to contact State Police investigators with the Bel Air Barrack at (410) 879-2101.
