BALTIMORE, MD — The Baltimore Ravens are finalizing a trade to acquire veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals after injuries depleted the position's roster, ESPN and NFL Network reported Wednesday.

The deal is expected to be completed this weekend, and the teams have not disclosed the terms. Brissett will not arrive in time for Thursday night's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, when undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano is expected to make his first NFL start.

Fagnano was elevated after two-time MVP Lamar Jackson injured his right thumb and backup Tyler Huntley suffered a toe injury. Both are potential season-ending injuries.

Adding Brissett would give Baltimore an experienced starter while the team awaits the return of its top two quarterbacks.

Brissett started Arizona's first eight games this season, completing 193 of 305 passes for 1,719 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He was benched during Sunday's comeback victory over the Dallas Cowboys after completing 10 of 23 passes for 119 yards and an interception.

The Cardinals then named Gardner Minshew their starter and elevated rookie Carson Beck to backup, dropping Brissett to third on the depth chart and making him a trade candidate.

If the deal goes through as expected, Brissett could make his Ravens debut in Week 10 against the Los Angeles Chargers, ESPN reports. The move would give Baltimore an established option as the team tries to stay competitive without Jackson and Huntley.
