• New MARC express train launches direct Baltimore-to-Montgomery County service (foxbaltimore.com) — Barnesville residents now have a new direct weekday MARC express option linking their station with Baltimore and several Montgomery County stops, cutting some travel times nearly in half. The state is also offering a $2 fare discount on this Brunswick-Camden Run-Through service for six months, making commutes from nearby hubs like Silver Spring and Gaithersburg faster and slightly cheaper. 
• Transit Briefs: TEXRail, MARC (railwayage.com) — A new MARC express line now directly links Barnesville with Baltimore and other key Montgomery County and Prince George’s County stops, eliminating the need to transfer in Washington. With one morning and one evening weekday train plus a temporary $2 discount, the service aims to significantly cut commute times and make rail more competitive with driving for local riders.
