Public Hearing for Maryland-American Water Co. Rate Request
The hearing will be held at 7 p.m. on Oct. 22 in Bel Air.

(BALTIMORE, MD-October 9, 2018) – The Maryland Public Service Commission will hold a public comment hearing on the application of Maryland-American Water Company to increase its operating revenue by $1.8 million and approval of $15.4 million for improvements to the Bel Air impoundment and other projects. The hearing will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. at the Harford County Council Meeting Room, 212 South Bond Street in Bel Air. Members of the public who wish to comment on the matter are welcome to attend the hearing before Public Utility Law Judge Jennifer J. Grace.
Maryland-American Water Company serves approximately 5,000 customers in and around Bel Air, Maryland. According to the application, the proposed rates would result in a nearly 37 percent increase on the bill of the average residential customer.
