A 20-year-old store manager couldn't believe his luck when a $10 scratch-off ticket revealed itself as a $100,000 ticket.
EDGEWOOD, MD — After working an overnight shift in retail, an Edgewood store manager popped by the Amoco in Edgewood to cash in a winning Fast Play ticket for a $10 prize. He then turned around and bought another ticket that ended up winning him $100,000.
The 20-year-old retail manager bought the $10 crossword scratch-off ticket, then sat down to eat breakfast and spend time on the word search. As he kept scratching, he kept finding matches. By the time he reached the 10th matching word, he couldn't wait to see what the final prize would be. He was still a little shocked when he realized his winnings were at the $100,000 top prize tier.
When he claimed his prize at Maryland Lottery headquarters, he told officials he planned to put his money in the bank for now.
