2 Bel Air Men Charged in Prostitution Detail

Authorities said six men and one woman were charged in prostitution operation in Edgewood, Aberdeen.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Two Bel Air men were among those arrested in a recent prostitution detail conducted by the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Six men were charged with soliciting prostitution, while one woman was taken into custody for prostituting. The detail took place at hotels in Aberdeen and Edgewood where the suspects had arranged to meet a woman who later turned out to be an undercover deputy.

Six men allegedly responded to an ad on Backpage.com, a website known to detectives to be used for prostitution. They contacted an undercover female deputy to arrange a date and when they arrived and offered money to the female at the hotel, they were arrested, officials said.

These men were charged in the Sept. 8 operation, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office:

  • Stephen Joseph Manfuso, 26, of Bel Air
  • Christopher Shawn Redman, 27, of Bel Air
  • Stanley Yuichi Aoki, 44, of Belcamp
  • David Michael Ruley Jr., 24, of Churchville
  • Alvin Lloyd Mason, 46, of Edgewood
  • Michael Neil Campbell, 35, of Havre de Grace

In addition to six men, officials said one woman was charged.

"During the course of the detail, deputies patrolled areas of Harford County where complaints regarding prostitution have originated," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "In the course of these patrols, Barbara Jean Baker, 54, was arrested and charged with prostitution." Baker lives in Edgewood, according to court records.
