Power outages caused two elementary schools to close on Monday, according to Harford County Public Schools officials.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Two schools in Harford County are closed on Monday, Feb. 25, according to Harford County Public Schools. The staff and students at both schools should not report, officials advised.
Churchville Elementary School and Riverside Elementary School are closed on Monday, according to authorities.
Power is out at both elementary schools, officials reported. Custodians should report on time.

BGE is working with Harford County Public Schools to restore power at the campuses, officials said after 6:30 a.m. on Monday.
The outages come as Harford County is under a high wind warning. The National Weather Service warns that winds of 25 to 35 mph and gusts from 50 to 60 mph could result in power outages and fallen trees until 6 p.m.

About 465 people are without power in Harford County as of 7:15 a.m. on Monday, according to the BGE outage map, which indicates more than 1,400 BGE customers have had their power restored since the strong winds began.
