2023-2024 Evening Of Jazz Series Kicks Off Oct. 6 With Special Concert At HCC

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Enjoy a relaxing concert Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. as the 2023-2024 Evening of Jazz series opens with Blake Meister, a Baltimore-based bassist whose music has been described by Giovanni Russonello, co-founder of CapitalBop and music writer for the New York Times, as having “ . . . wit, soul and an organic-sounding complexity that only a master can pull off.”

Meister started out playing electric bass and he entered college with no experience on the double bass. Since then, Meister has gone on to receive several Governor’s Citations from Maryland, garnering three Individual Artist Awards from the Maryland State Arts Council.
