Do you have any previous political experience? If so, please state and explain how that experience will influence your time in office if elected.
After years of community involvement and advocacy, I was appointed to the County Council in April 2025 to fill a vacant seat, and have been honored to serve the constituents of District B since being appointed. In addition to my work on the Council I have also served as the Chair of the Commission for Women, Chair of the ARC of Northern Chesapeake Standing Committee, Trustee of the Harford County Public Library Board, Board member of the Harford County Humane Society, Chair of the Harford County Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team, and Founding member of the Military/Civilian DV Coalition.

What do you believe is the single-most important issue facing voters in the district you’re looking to represent? How do you intend to address those issues?

There is an ever looming concern for land use project proposals that would greatly affect our way of life, maxed out infrastructure, and environmental health- since my first weeks on the council I have worked with community members and elected partners to push back on projects that put undue stress on our community. From legal letters of opposition, to attending countless community meetings, to attending formal hearings on behalf of our community. My goal has been to be as educated as possible, act and continue to hold the line for the community.

How do you differ from other candidates running against you?

I am a 6th generation farmer raising my young kids on my families Legacy Farm. My farm literally holds the line of the development envelope- while being a working farm- both of which are responsibilities to my family, community and future generations of Harford County. I represent the 'Rural' that much of District B wants to keep.

How would your work experience benefit the goals/objectives you’ve outlined in your campaign and/or the office you’re seeking?

Having been a social worker for 20+ years I've had to be well versed in identifying a variety of problems, making diverse community connects and understanding how processes work to get solutions for people. From school systems, to infrastructure needs, to advocating for constituent rights- I am often brought in when people need a voice and an action plan

What is your opinion of the work being done by the current office holder, and how will you improve on it? If that is you - how do you plan to continue improving upon what you've already accomplished?

Over the last year I have been able to expand District B's community engagement and provide a voice of opposition on several proposed projects- including the Brandon Shores Mitigation Powerlines project, several proposed solar farm projects (most recently the Chrome Hill Solar project), and opposition to Data Centers in Harford County. When I was appointed- there was an exceptional amount of uncertainty and mistrust between constituents and our representation- understanding that, I have made sure to work to repair trust, communication and action plans to ensure our District is protected in a path forward.

How do you feel about the school system in your area and what improvements would you like to see be made?

As the only current HCPS parent in the Legislative Branch of Harford County Government - the trust and success of our school system as a whole- is rooted in the core of my community advocacy and our community values. District B arguably has some of the best schools in the county (if not the state), and it is critical that we sure it stays that way. With that being said we also need to review the current legislation that only haults further development when a school is well over 100% capacity. This exception to being ' at capacity' puts more pressure on our school staff, classroom sizes, and operational costs.

How do you feel about crime in your area and what steps can be taken to reduce it?

District B is a very safe area, our biggest struggle has been the response time when crime does occur. In summer 2025 there was a car theft spike in the Abingdon and Bel Air South area, and because our HCSO are concentrated in higher crime areas- it took time for them to respond- and because of that the criminals would have a few more minutes to get away. Eventually, HCSO was able to assign a team to focus on this area and apprehend several juveniles- but not before exceptional and in at least one case- life changing damages. We need to reassess the distribution of our law enforcement officers and use the funds that were approved and set aside to ensure the whole county has a minimal response time, and feel connected, seen and protected by law enforcement.

What do you think about the economic climate and business sector in your community, and what initiatives could propel it forward?

District B is primarily suburban and rural- and its largely why people choose to live here. We appreciate only having a short drive to the business sector of our County but largely District B residents are not interested in having the business growth here. With that we will continue to encourage the county to provide support especially to family-owned, or start-up businesses, as well as continue our robust relationship with employers associated with APG.

How do you feel about transportation options in the area and what, if anything, should be improved upon?

Due to my work in the community I am very familiar with the perks and limitations of our public transportation system. With the Transit buses only serving a small fraction of the county population we need to make sure we are meeting those riders needs, while not putting unnecessary focus on Capitol projects that will put unnecessary stress on our larger tax- payer population. Instead of focusing on a large bus station- lets focus on extending ride hours to allow for alternate work hours, meet weekend needs and support medical appointments for those that rely on the transportation services. During fiscally uncertain times we need to make sure our tax-payer funds are actually maintaining and improving services and not just another photo op for a ground-breaking ceremony.

What else would you like voters to know about you?

I may not look like your traditional elected official, but you will be hard pressed to find anyone more rooted on our community or more invested in the future of District B. Serving this community has been the honor of a lifetime, and I hope to have your vote on June 23rd.
