Do you have any previous political experience? If so, please state and explain how that experience will influence your time in office if elected.
While I have not previously held elected office, I have spent years actively involved in local politics, public meetings, policy discussions, and community engagement throughout Harford County. My background in political science and behavioral psychology has given me a strong understanding of how government decisions impact everyday people and how communities respond to policy, leadership, and communication.
I believe one of the biggest advantages I bring is that I am directly connected to the realities many residents face every day. I understand the frustrations surrounding affordability, transportation, infrastructure, education, and feeling disconnected from local government because I live those concerns alongside the people I hope to represent.
What do you believe is the single-most important issue facing voters in the district you’re looking to represent? How do you intend to address those issues?
The biggest issue facing Harford County right now is the growing disconnect between residents and the long-term affordability and sustainability of living here. Rising costs, transportation limitations, infrastructure concerns, and economic uncertainty are all connected.
I believe Harford County needs leadership that focuses on responsible budgeting, improving transportation accessibility, supporting local businesses, investing in public services, and creating policies that make residents feel like they are part of a connected and growing community again. My focus is on practical solutions that improve quality of life without placing unnecessary financial burdens on taxpayers.
How do you differ from other candidates running against you?
I believe I bring a different perspective because I am not a career politician. I approach issues from the perspective of someone who is actively living the challenges many working residents are facing today.
I am willing to have honest conversations about difficult issues, whether that involves transportation, energy, budgeting, or economic development. I also strongly believe leadership should be approachable and engaged directly with the community instead of only appearing during election season.
How would your work experience benefit the goals/objectives you’ve outlined in your campaign and/or the office you’re seeking?
My experience working in education and customer service has taught me how to communicate with people from many different backgrounds, handle pressure, solve problems, and remain connected to the needs of everyday residents.
Working in education especially has reinforced the importance of structure, communication, accountability, and long-term investment in future generations. I believe those same principles apply directly to effective leadership in county government.
What is your opinion of the work being done by the current office holder, and how will you improve on it?
I believe the current administration has focused heavily on maintaining strong financial reserves, protecting the county’s credit rating, and avoiding tax increases. While fiscal responsibility is important, I also believe too many residents feel like the county has been allowed to stagnate while major issues continue to grow.
We have seen ongoing concerns surrounding school funding, transportation accessibility, healthcare access after the loss of the county’s second hospital, and infrastructure planning that many residents feel is not keeping pace with the county’s actual needs. Saving money means very little if people feel like services, accessibility, and quality of life are declining around them. A good credit rating should not become the primary measurement of success while residents struggle with affordability, disconnected communities, overcrowding concerns, transportation limitations, and shrinking access to critical services.
As County Executive, my focus would be on balancing fiscal responsibility with meaningful investment into the people and infrastructure that keep Harford County functioning and growing long-term. That means stronger support for education, improving transportation options, addressing healthcare accessibility concerns, investing in practical infrastructure, and ensuring county resources are being used proactively instead of simply sitting unused while problems continue to worsen.
I believe leadership is not just about preserving stability on paper but it is about making sure residents can actually feel the county improving in their everyday lives.
How do you feel about the school system in your area and what improvements would you like to see be made?
I believe our schools are filled with hardworking educators and staff who genuinely care about students, but they are often being asked to do more with limited support and increasing challenges.
I would like to see stronger collaboration between county leadership and the school system, improved support for teachers and staff retention, greater investment in student resources and career readiness programs, and more focus on addressing transportation and accessibility issues that impact families across the county.
How do you feel about crime in your area and what steps can be taken to reduce it?
Public safety is one of the most important responsibilities of local government. I believe reducing crime requires both strong law enforcement support and long-term investment in communities. That means supporting first responders while also addressing issues connected to economic opportunity, education, youth engagement, mental health resources, and community trust. Safer communities are built through both accountability and investment.
What do you think about the economic climate and business sector in your community, and what initiatives could propel it forward?
Harford County has tremendous economic potential, but many residents still feel like they are struggling with rising costs, limited transportation options, and a lack of long-term investment into the communities already here. I believe economic growth works best when infrastructure, transportation, education, and local business development are all working together instead of being treated like separate issues.
My goal is to help create an environment where businesses can grow because the county itself is more connected, more accessible, and more attractive for both residents and investment. That includes improving transportation options through Harford Link expansion, investing in infrastructure that supports future growth, strengthening workforce and career readiness opportunities, and making sure small businesses and local entrepreneurs have more opportunities to succeed.
I also believe economic development should focus on improving quality of life for the people already living in Harford County, not just attracting outside projects that do not meaningfully benefit residents. Strong communities, reliable infrastructure, accessible transportation, and responsible planning all work together to create sustainable long-term economic growth.
How do you feel about transportation options in the area and what, if anything, should be improved upon?
Transportation is one of the areas where I believe Harford County has significant room for improvement. Many residents, especially in rural and underserved areas, struggle with accessibility and limited transit options.
I support expanding and modernizing Harford Link services, improving connectivity between communities, exploring faster and more efficient route systems, and ensuring transportation planning is treated as an important part of economic growth and quality of life.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I want voters to know that I am not part of the “good old boys club,” and I am not an internet version of a Democrat who only talks about issues online without offering real solutions. I am someone who genuinely believes leadership means showing up, listening to people, and fighting for tangible policies and reforms that improve everyday life in Harford County.
I am not running to change the core identity of Harford County. I believe this county already has strong communities, hard working people, and tremendous potential. What I want is progress, better transportation, stronger infrastructure, smarter budgeting, more connected communities, support for local businesses, and leadership that is approachable and engaged with the people it serves. At the end of the day, I believe residents deserve leadership that is practical, honest, visible, and willing to make long-term investments into the county instead of simply maintaining the status quo. My goal is simple: help make Harford County feel lived in, connected, and forward-moving again.
