$23.4M Budget Proposed By Bel Air Officials, Property Tax Rates To Remain The Same
Bel Air officials have proposed a $23.4 million fiscal 2024 budget, which can be viewed online. A public hearing will be held April 17.
BEL AIR, MD — A special parking fund costing more than $594,000 comprises just a portion of Bel Air's $23.4 million proposed fiscal 2024 budget, but the current tax rates are to remain steady.
The current tax rates of $.54 per $100 of valuation for real property and $1.20 for personal property are expected to remain the same when the next fiscal year begins July 1. Sewer rates, which are currently $6.48 per 1,000 gallons, are expected to increase by 8 percent, or $.52, since the Consumer Price Index has increased as of December 2022.
The town’s proposed budget includes an $18.4 million general fund, a $3.9 million sewer fund, a parking fund of more than $594,000 and a special revenue fund of more than $459,000.
