2 Major Crashes, Boat Fire In Harford County Friday: Officials
A serious crash near Forest Hill, boat fire in Abingdon and hazmat incident in Jarrettsville have occurred Friday, officials say.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — It has been a busy day for first responders in Harford County on Friday, July 5, as the Independence Day weekend continues. There was a boat fire, a hazmat crash and a collision requiring medevac in the span of several hours Friday afternoon, the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association reports.
Three people were being taken by medevac for treatment after multiple vehicles crashed on US 1 at Sandy Hook Road, according to Jenn Chenworth, spokeswoman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
Before 3:15 p.m., she said that several fire companies were assisting Darlington at the crash site, where there was entrapment and people had to be rescued.

Route 1 was closed at Sandy Hook Road during the response.
Boat Fire Sends 2 To Hospitals
Two adults were hospitalized with burn injuries after a fire on the Bush River in Abingdon, officials said. The Abingdon Fire Company was called at 12:40 p.m. to a boat fire off East Baker Avenue, where the boat was floating near a dock with people on board, according to Chenworth.

Firefighters evaluated the boaters, then took one to a regional burn center and another to a local hospital, she said.
Propane Truck Crash Displaces 3 Locals
After 12:30 p.m., there was a crash involving a propane truck in the 3900 block of Norrisville Road that officials said drew the Harford County hazmat team to the scene and temporarily displaced three locals. Crews from Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company were assisted by firefighters from Harford County and York County, Pennsylvania, Chenworth said.
There was an active propane leak when emergency personnel arrived, and the leak was mitigated by 1:30 p.m., according to Chenworth.
Norrisville Road was closed between Salem Church Road and Citation Road during the response. Three residents who lived in the area were relocated to Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company, Chenworth reported.
