3 Children, 2 Adults Displaced Due To Edgewood House Fire: State Fire Marshal's Office

Three children and two adults have been displaced due to an electrical fire in a bedroom of their Edgewood home.

EDGEWOOD, MD — A one-story manufactured home in Edgewood caught fire Jan. 9, displacing the family living there.

The call for help was sent out around 9:23 p.m. The fire was discovered in a bedroom by the people living there. Twenty-eight firefighters with the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company responded to the call and reigned in the fire within 10 minutes, according to the State Fire Marshal's Office.

The home, located at 600 Holly Ave. in Edgewood, sustained $75,000 in damage to the structure and loss of contents. Harford County Disaster Assistance is assisting the family, which includes two adults and three children.

The fire has tentatively been ruled accidental due to an electrical fire and was contained to the bedroom with extensive soot, smoke and water damage throughout the rest of the home, the State Fire Marshal's Office reported.
